How long has Garage Solutions NWA been in business?
We launched in 2016.
Are you insured?
Yes.
Do you charge for in-home estimates?
In-home estimates are always free.
Do you have a showroom?
Although we do not have a showroom, we have plenty of samples and photos to help you get an idea of our products.
Do you have a minimum dollar amount to come out and perform installations?
We do not have a minimum dollar amount for installations. With that being said, installations less that $500 may incur a trip fee.
My garage is a mess, do I have to move everything for your team to install?
It depends. If you are having shelving installed, we ask that items are moved 5 feet from the section of the wall where shelves are being installed. We ask the same for cabinet installation, as well as having enough open floor space that can be used for cabinet assembly.
We are willing to break installations up to best help the homeowner. For example, if you are interested in flooring and shelving, we can install the shelving first to give the owner a place to get items off the floor.
Will you come and remove my storage items and reinstall in a new home?
No. Installations should be viewed as permanent fixtures of the home. When you sell your existing home, your new garage will set your home a part to prospective buyers.
Garage Cabinets
What are your garage cabinets made of?
3/4″ and 1″ thick melamine.
Why are the garage cabinets mounted up off the floor?
We typically mount the cabinets to the wall 4-6 inches off the floor. This makes cleaning under the cabinets easier.
Do all of your garage cabients have full backs?
Only our Signature Series Garage Cabinets feature full backs.
Do you recommend full backs on garage cabinets?
If your garage is finished, it is entirely up to your preference. If the studs of your garage are exposed, full-backs are recommended.
Do you provide custom sizes if needed on your garage cabinets?
Yes, our Signature Series Garage Cabinets offer customized sizing.
What about plugs and light switches, do they get covered up by the garage cabinets?
We will make the plugs and switches accessible to fit your needs.
Are your garage cabinets made in North America?
Yes. We will custom design your cabinets right here in NW Arkansas. Our corporate partner manufactures the main pieces in Idaho. Then, we fully assemble and install your cabinets in your garage.
Some competitors promote more hinges on their garage cabinets than you. Why?
The hinges we use are rated for the weights of the doors and are backed up by our manufacturer’s warranty.
Garage Flooring
How soon can I get back into the garage once the garage floor coating is completed?
In most cases, you will be able to walk on your floor the same day. We recommend not driving on it for 24-48 hours. This is weather dependent. We will also make recommendations when the install is scheduled.
Does everything have to be out of the garage during the garage floor coating installation?
Everything needs to be off the floor. We can help you remove heavy items such as refrigerators. Mobile storage units like PODS are available from several local companies if you need temporary storage.
If you are interested in any of our shelving products, we can install them first to help get everything off the floor.
My home is new, do my floors still need to be prepped? I would like to save some money and not have it prepped.
Most new garage floors are semi-polished and chemically sealed. Our coatings will not adhere to a smooth finish. To ensure a proper bond between the coating and floor, we will prep all floors.
One of your competitors told me that it takes up to three days to do a garage floor.
This is dependent on the size of the garage and the amount of prep work required. Most residential garages can be completed in 1-2 days.
Do you cover the side walls with the garage floor coating?
Concrete stem walls can be coated to seamlessy match coated floors.
What if I drop something and I damage the new garage floor coating?
The coating is very durable. Unless the dropped item damages the concrete underneath, your new flooring should hold up.
How do you recommend we clean our new floor?
Most of the time, water and a squeegee will clean up messes. A shop broom and water should take care of the toughest jobs. The finish is not porous and will not stain from oils or paints.
Garage Shelving
What is better, wall-mounted garage shelving or overhead ceiling racks?
This depends on your space available and what you want to accomplish. Our wall-mounted line is the most versatile and sought after.
We recommend overhead racks for long-term storage and wall-mounted shelves for items you want to keep accessible.
What is the weight capacity of your garage shelving?
The Monkey Bar shelving units can hold 1,000 lbs per four feet of shelving.
Do you recommend wired grid shelving or solid surface garage shelving?
We use solid surface for wall mounted systems. Overhead racks utilize grids.
Will wall-shelving interfere with our vehicles?
Our team will work with you to make sure shelving does not interfere with vehicles or walkways.
What if I need more hooks to hang items from the Monkey Bars System?
Give us a call and we will help you with your needs.
Overhead Ceiling Racks
How are the overhead ceiling racks secured to the ceiling?
They are mounted to the trusses of your ceiling at 4 points.
Do your overhead rack platforms have a safety lip?
Yes. There is a 2″ safety lip.
Can your overhead ceiling racks be mounted to walls?
The racks can be mounted using a combination of the wall and ceiling.
If I want my overhead ceiling racks over my garage door, how much clearance do I need?
We recommend a minimum of 24″ in order to get the most out of your system. They can be installed with less clearance. Our garage consultants will make recommendations based on your specific garage.
Will the overhead racks bow in the middle with weight?
No. The racks are rated for 750lb. If you adhere to the weight capacity, your overhead rack will not bow in the middle.
How large can you make a single overhead storage rack?
The systems are modular and can be configured to fit your needs.
PVC Slatwall
Is your slat wall similar to what retail stores use for displays?
The concept is the same. We use a heavy duty PVC slat wall that will last for many years. Most accessories found at the retailers will work with our slat wall.
Is the finish on the slat wall painted on?
They are a colored PVC. The color will not scratch or fade.
Does slat wall protect my garage walls?
Slat wall covers the wall, so in essence yes.
What do you do about the seams and cut edges on the slat wall?
The seams blend in and are not noticeable. All edges are covered.
Does the slat wall cover plugs, switches, electrical panels, etc.?
We can extend these items to give access to whatever you need.
What accessories fit your slat wall?
Most standard slat wall accessories that can be purchased online or at major retailers are compatible.
Do you stock all slat wall colors?
We stock a variety of colors and can custom order more.
